What happens when a woman crippled by anxiety meets a charismatic agoraphobe? Olivia Wilde (Cowboys and Aliens) and Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses) are hoping that particular romantic comedy premise makes box office gold in their new film, Relanxious. The film will mark the directorial debut of writer Christopher Storer (Sin Bin) in a relationship comedy that explores the power of love when it’s complicated by social phobias. Wilde will star as Barrett, a woman plagued by her anxiety who falls for George (Sudeikis), a man whose fear forces him to converse with her only over the telephone. As their conversations lead to increasingly serious fantasy dates, they are tasked with putting aside their fears to find a real-life romance. Relanxious also stars Brie Larson (Scott Pilgrim vs the World) and Fred Armisen (Portlandia) and will begin shooting this summer in Chicago.

Deadline reported relanxious-olivia-wildeon Relanxious, the new romantic comedy starring Wilde and Sudeikis. Wilde is currently filming The Incredible Burt Wonderstone with Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi and Jim Carrey, while Sudeikis will star as Batman in the comedy-short compilation, Movie 43. The film, produced by Daniel Dubiecki and Lorene Scafaria, will star Larson as Barrett’s sister. Larson can next be seen in Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s 21 Jump Street, starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, which opens this weekend. Sudeikis’ fellow SNL cast member Armisen will play George’s friend and sole go-between with the outside world. While the premise of Relanxious does come off a bit too cutesy for my tastes, I’m quite sure that the opportunity to date Olivia Wilde is the cure for pretty much every phobia.

In the first major deal of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, CBS Films has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the Bradley Cooper drama The Words for $2 million, EW has confirmed. About a struggling writer who becomes a literary megastar after he passes off a lost manuscript as his own, the film also stars Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Irons, Olivia Wilde, and Dennis Quaid, and is the directorial debut for co-writers Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal. The deal includes an additional $1.5 million for print and advertising.

The Words is actually the closing night film for the festival, but it sparked a bidding war after a private screening on Saturday. CBS Films is eyeing a release this fall.

Shekhar Kapur, who was recently in the capital for his alma mater Modern School’s annual day celebrations, spoke to TOI about his upcoming films – “Paani”, the musical, and the one that he wants to shoot after that. In fact, Kapur also met Hollywood actress Olivia Wilde recently to talk to her about the next movie. “Yes, I met her. I’m meeting a lot of people for the movie but it’s too soon to say anything. I will work on this movie after “Paani”.” As far as “Paani” goes, Kapur says it’s a daunting task ahead of him, “It’s a big film with a budget of USD 50 million. To get it all alone is not easy. I’m producing, directing and doing everything for this international film.” But as far as the cast and the name of Kristen Stewart goes, says Kapur, “You can keep chatting with people and discussing the story but till the time someone doesn’t say yes, it’s all conjecture.”

That was fast! Olivia Wilde has beaten out the likes of Judy Greer, Sarah Silverman, Jessica Biel and Michelle Monaghan to win the coveted female lead in magician comedy “Burt Wonderstone”, reports THR. She is now in negotiations to join a cast that includes Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, James Gandolfini and Steve Buscemi in the Don Scardino directed film.

Carell stars as the title character, a traditional Las Vegas magician who is left abandoned by longtime partner (Buscemi), is upstaged by a hip street magician played by Carrey and must rediscover his love of magic. Wilde will play Burt’s love interest, his former assistant who now works for Carrey’s charcter. Filming is scheduled to begin in January.

The hard working Wilde can currently be seen opposite Justin Timberlake in Andrew Niccol’s “In Time” and has wrapped Jennifer Garner’s ensemble comedy “Butter”, along with family dramas “Welcome to People” with Chris Pine and “Blackbird” with Eric Bana. She’s also scheduled to shoot “Better Living Through Chemistry” opposite Sam Rockwell this fall and recently landed another highly coveted female lead, opposite Chris Hemsworth in Ron Howard’s Formula One racing biopic “Rush.”

EDIT: Olivia Wilde has just tweeted that this is false!

Hey internet, I’m not the new Lara Croft. But I’ve seen about 23 drag queen impersonators tonight in new york so all is well!

“Tron Legacy” actress Olivia Wilde is stepping into the padded-bra previously adorned by Angelina Jolie in the “Tomb Raider” reboot, says french site Cinepop.

Wilde reportedly confirmed the casting in an interview with the site, adding that Mark Fergus (“First Snow”, writer of “Cowboys & Aliens”, which Wilde was in) is directing the flick. Fergus co-wrote the script with Hawk Ostby (“Iron Man”).

Wilde, who career has gone from strength-to-strength since playing the lesbian bartender in Calisoap “The OC”, says she’s a fan of the character – who originates from the pixels on a video-game monitor – and is looking forward to raiding tombs on the big screen.

Guessing this one might be officially announced at AFM…
